Job summary

Office Owls Recruitment Limited is assisting in a Commercial Gas Engineer vacancy based in Edinburgh. You will service and maintain commercial heating and water systems across public sector and office sites, with on-call duties and a core Mon-Fri day pattern.

The role requires NVQ plumbing level, extensive gas qualifications, and a strong focus on safety and quality reporting. A full UK driving licence is essential, with company van provided.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing is required.
• Valid Commercial Gas Qualifications listed above are essential.
• LPG qualification desirable.
• OFTEC qualifications desirable.
• Unvented Hot Water Storage certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Service and maintain commercial heating systems and boilers.
• Install, diagnose, and repair heating systems and domestic hot/cold water systems.
• Install heating plant, domestic water plant, and water heaters.
• Carry out pipework installation for water, gas, air, and related systems.
• Operate press-fit tools.
• Complete reactive repairs and planned preventative maintenance.
• Collaborate with other trades on-site.
• Ensure health and safety regulations and building standards are followed.
• Complete job reports and documentation accurately.
• Prepare material lists and assist apprentices as needed.
• Participate in on-call rota for emergency support.
• Undertake additional duties as required by the business.

• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Good understanding of health and safety procedures
• Professional and customer-focused approach
• Strong communication and reporting skills
• Full UK Driving Licence

SALARY & BENEFITS

• £40,000 - £45,000 basic salary (ote £50,000 +)
• 25 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays
