ABOUT THE TEAM:

As we continue to experience rapid growth, we are seeking a talented Commercial Finance Manager who can effectively spearhead business partnering with our revenue generating teams. In this role, you will be working to develop greater understanding of key revenue and cogs drivers & take ownership of a product PnL.

As Commercial Finance Manager, you will also be responsible for leading part of the financial planning and analysis function, providing critical insights into our company's performance, forecasting future trends, and supporting strategic decision-making processes. This role will require a combination of analytical prowess, strategic thinking, and strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership. You will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our organisation and driving sustainable growth. Your strategic insights and financial expertise will directly influence key decisions at the Senior Leadership level, enabling us to optimise resource allocation, capitalise on growth opportunities, and navigate complex market dynamics with confidence.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As an Commercial Finance Manager you’ll be:

  • Leading financial voice for a key tide revenue stream becoming the global expert and mini-CFO to the product area & managing the full product PnL.
  • Leading part of the annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes in close collaboration with Senior Leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Owning, managing and continuously improving the key financial models within Payments Or Credit used to forecast Tide’s financial performance.
  • Developing detailed financial models to perform scenario/sensitivity analysis and assess financial impacts of strategic initiatives.
  • Develop understanding of product profitability through Unit Economics in order to deliver meaningful analysis to senior management and the business.
  • Using large and complex datasets to identify risks and opportunities, as well as analysing industry trends to provide actionable insights and recommendations to Senior Leadership and business stakeholders.
  • Coaching and mentoring FP&A Analysts and Senior FP&A Analysts.
  • Reviewing reports, financial models, analysis, and other work completed by FP&A Analysts and the wider Finance team.
  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and controls to ensure completeness, accuracy, compliance and financial integrity.
  • Developing and implementing continuous process improvements .
  • Business partnering - Acting as a trusted advisor to the business, you’ll be collaborating closely with area and unit leaders to monitor and improve financial performance. Seeking cost optimisation opportunities and operational efficiency within the payments area
  • Future projects to enhance Business Intelligence (BI)
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
  • You are a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent) with 7+ years of transferable experience providing insights from data to drive financial performance improvements.
  • It’s an advantage if you have experience working at a Tech or FinTech company, or have had exposure to Payments, Acquiring, Savings or Credit Products.
  • You have strong Excel / Google Sheets skills and experience working with data visualisation tools (e.g. Looker). With experience with dedicated financial planning software (eg. Anaplan) a bonus.
  • Data driven, model focused and love telling a story through numbers; you are very comfortable with Unit Economic analysis and working to identify trends with large customer databases.
  • You have highly effective communication skills, with the confidence and ability to influence stakeholders at the Senior Leadership team level (eg. VP, C-Suite).
