We are looking for an experienced nurse in Colorectal cancer and/or Oncology nursing to join our Colorectal cancer nurse specialist team. The GI Nursing team at UHS is a progressive, experienced and highly skilled team of cancer clinical nurse specialists. The team is at the forefront of nursing service development and nursing research initiatives both locally and nationally.

Responsibilities
  • Provide support and care to patients with colorectal cancer and their families, acting as the key worker and bridging the transition of care between speciality teams.
  • Assist and ensure treatment is delivered in appropriate time frames, in accordance with national cancer guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the MDT at UHS and in referring centres to ensure all patients receive the highest level of specialist care and support.
  • Support the MDT to deliver high‑quality, holistic care for all patients with proven and suspected colorectal cancer, from diagnosis to discharge.
  • Use skills and knowledge across the sub‑specialities that make up the team, deliver stratified approaches to care, and foster a culture of learning, development and excellence in nursing care delivery.
  • Participate in projects shaping models of specialist service delivery for the future.
Qualifications & Competencies
  • Experienced nurse in colorectal cancer and/or oncology nursing.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as a team player.
  • Experience working with cancer patients; the role is emotionally demanding and requires resilience.
  • Commitment to key organisational values and fostering a culture of learning.
