Job summary

Gist is recruiting for a Warehouse Shift Manager at Portbury, Bristol. You will lead a cold‑chain warehouse team on a fixed late shift (Sun–Thu, 2:00pm–10:30pm), driving safety, performance and productivity in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

You’ll report to the Warehouse Operations Manager and own daily operations to deliver exceptional results. You will recruit, onboard and develop high performing teams, optimise resources around live volumes and foster a culture where people feel valued and

Qualifications

• Hands-on warehouse management experience in FMCG or logistics.
• Proven track record of leading and developing teams.
• Able to adapt to different shift patterns and environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead from the front, recruit and onboard warehouse teams.
• Drive performance and achieve shift KPIs.
• Plan people and resources around live volumes for smooth operations.
• Manage wellbeing, absence and employee relations with a supportive approach.
• Champion safety and uphold HSE standards.
• Build partnerships with agencies and stakeholders to ensure resources.
• Develop the team and identify training opportunities.
• Review plans and processes to drive improvements.
