Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a senior coastal engineering leader to drive the delivery of coastal, maritime and flood risk management projects. You will lead multidisciplinary teams through full lifecycle from concept to handover, ensuring technical excellence and strong client engagement.

Qualifications

• Chartered Civil Engineer or equivalent professional qualification.
• Demonstrable experience delivering coastal, maritime or flood and coastal erosion risk management infrastructure projects.
• A Proven Technical, Engineering and Project delivery track record.
• Established experience of working with clients such as the Environment Agency, local authorities, contractors or infrastructure owners.
• A sound understanding of the technical, commercial and stakeholder challenges in coastal and flood risk infrastructure.
• Able to develop trusted client relationships, lead meetings and prepare high-quality technical and commercial outputs.
• Commercially astute with experience of financial control, milestones, risk mitigation and change control.

Responsibilities

• Lead inter-discipline and multi-office teams in the engineering, design, planning and delivery of coastal, maritime and FCERM projects.
• Provide technical and professional leadership and governance, mentoring and career development support to foster growth of team members.
• Oversee engineering and project resources, programme performance, design integration, construction interfaces and risk management.
• Utilise collaborative digital delivery and BIM approaches where appropriate.
• Champion integration of safety into all design and engineering activities and compliance with quality management systems.
• Support strategic positioning of pursuits and business opportunities for sustainable growth.
• Build trusted client relationships and represent Jacobs as a subject matter expert with stakeholders.
