Job summary

ABS Talent is recruiting a CNC Turner (Setter/Operator) to join a Newcastle area manufacturing team. You will set and operate Doosan Puma CNC turning machines to produce precision components such as casings, subs and drilling tools, following engineering drawings and tolerances.

The role is permanent and full-time, with hours Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:30pm and Friday 7:30am–12:30pm. Candidates should have Doosan/Puma experience and be detail-oriented and reliable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Turner / Setter / Operator.
• Experience on Doosan CNC lathes or similar.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Quality-focused with good attention to detail.
• Reliable, motivated and a good team player.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC turning machines — Doosan Puma.
• Producing precision-machined components (casings, subs and drilling tools).

Salary: £16.00 per hour (overtime at time and a half when available)

Hours: Monday–Thursday 7:30am–4:30pm, Friday 7:30am–12:30pm

With over 20 years in the industry and a reputation as one of the UK's leading drilling equipment suppliers, our client manufactures high-quality casings, subs and drilling tools — and is continuing to invest in and expand its workshops.

This is a great opportunity for a capable CNC turner to join a busy, growing manufacturing team, with an early finish every Friday.

The role

• Setting and operating CNC turning machines — Doosan Puma
• Producing precision-machined components (casings, subs and drilling tools)
