Shillito Group is seeking an experienced CNC Turner Programmer to join an established precision engineering business in Rotherham. The role involves programming, setting and operating CNC turning machines to produce high precision components from drawings.

You will edit programs, set tooling and offsets, and inspect own work to ensure first-off quality. Qualified candidates will have bar-feeding experience and familiarity with multi-axis turning, G-code or CAM-based programming, and tight

Qualifications

• This role requires CNC turning experience with programming and setting of lathes or turning centres.
• Ability to edit programs, set tools and offsets, prove out jobs and inspect your own work.
• Experience with bar-feeding and multi-axis turning is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC turning machines
• Produce precision-engineered parts from technical drawings
• Create, edit and improve CNC programs
• Set tooling and prepare machines for production
• Adjust speeds, feeds, offsets and machine parameters
• Complete first-off and in-process inspection
• Work with driven tooling, live tooling and multi-axis machining
• Resolve machining and production issues
• Improve cycle times, tool life and overall efficiency
• Operate more than one machine when required
• Complete quality and traceability documentation
