Job summary

Questech Recruitment Ltd is seeking a skilled CNC Turner Programmer for a large machining company near Rotherham/Barnsley. You will program, set and operate CNC turning centres with FANUC controls on medium to high volume batches.

Responsibilities include interpreting drawings, selecting tools, and ensuring components meet tight tolerances using inspection equipment. The role requires experience with exotic materials and a collaborative, fast-paced manufacturing environment.

CNC TURNER PROGRAMMER

Questech are working with a large machining company that has heavily invested in modern machines located close to Rotherham / Barnsley.

THE DUTIES OF A CNC PROGRAMMER TURNER:

• CNC turning of complex precision engineered components
• Confident working on medium to high volume batch work and fully skilled to program, set and operate CNC turning centres with FANUC control and driven tools.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings and job routings to set up and program a wide range of turning/milling operations on both repeat and new components.
• Fully experienced with machining of both standard and more exotic raw materials.
• Able to work to tight timelines and multi-task in a busy manufacturing environment.
• Fully competent with all types of inspection equipment to verify component quality.

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCES & SKILLS:

• Minimum 10 years' experience in a high precision manufacturing background
• Excellent communication skills

THE HOURS:

Rotating day and evening shifts on a weekly basis.

THE PAY:

• Hourly rate between £18-£20 per hour depending on experience
• OT paid at 1.5x (basic + bonus)
• 6% bonus eligible after probation
