Job summary

CNC Programmer role in Croydon within a well-established engineering and manufacturing business. You will create and optimise CNC programs for milling and turning, set up on machines, and work with setters and production teams to ensure efficient manufacturing.

The ideal candidate has proven CNC programming experience, strong knowledge of FANUC or Siemens controls, and the ability to read drawings and select tooling, speeds and feeds to improve quality and cycle times.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Programmer within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of CNC machining (milling and/or turning).
• Experience with FANUC / Siemens controls (or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong understanding of machining principles, tolerances, and materials.
• Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software.
• Background in high-precision engineering (aerospace, automotive, defence, etc.).
• Experience with multi-axis machining.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, and optimise CNC programs for milling and/or turning operations
• Set up and prove out programs on CNC machines
• Work closely with setters/operators and production teams to ensure efficient manufacture
• Interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, and feeds to improve cycle times and quality
• Carry out program troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities
• Ensure all work meets quality and safety standards
