Job summary

Comton Group in Darlaston is recruiting a CNC Setter / Operator – Turning to join a busy machine shop. The role focuses on setting and operating CNC turning lathes, producing components to tight drawings and specifications.

We expect you to read engineering drawings, understand tooling, offsets and machine settings, and to work accurately with a strong eye for quality. The position is full-time and permanent, offering a 39-hour week and a clear progression path.

CNC Setter / Operator – Turning

Location: Darlaston

Pay: £13.50–£17.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill set

Hours: 39 hours per week – Monday–Thursday 7:00am–4:30pm, Friday half day

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to join a busy machine shop in Darlaston, working primarily with CNC lathes and turning machinery.

Ideally, we're looking for someone who can both set and operate CNC turning machines, although we are willing to consider a strong CNC operator who is looking to develop their setting skills.

Pay will be dependent on experience, with a potential range of £13.50–£17.00 per hour based on the candidate's overall skill set.
