Job summary

Comton Group in Darlaston is recruiting for a CNC Setter/Operator to join a busy machine shop. The role focuses on turning machines, with the potential to develop setting skills and progress within the team.

Salary reflects experience, with a 39-hour week and a permanent contract in a focused machining environment. Candidates will set and operate CNC turning lathes, read drawings, and ensure components meet tight tolerances.

Qualifications

• Experience operating CNC lathes/turning machines.
• Able to set and operate.
• Experience reading engineering drawings.
• Good understanding of tooling, offsets and machine settings.
• Attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC turning/lathes
• Producing components to drawing and specification
• Loading and unloading machines
• Selecting and changing tooling
• Adjusting offsets and machine settings
• Carrying out in-process quality checks
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Ensuring components meet required tolerances and quality standards
• Identifying and reporting any issues with machinery or components
• Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
