Job summary

Castle Employment Group is seeking an experienced CNC Operator for a permanent nights role near Kirkbymoorside. You will start on days for six months, then move to a permanent night shift Monday to Thursday, 8:30pm–7:00am, 40 hours/week, with a £50 night shift allowance and an expected earnings around £49,000 annually once established on nights.

You will set and operate high-speed CNC machinery, read engineering drawings, and perform basic CNC edits while ensuring quality and production records

Qualifications

Must have previous CNC machining experience.
Experience with 3-axis and 4-axis CNC machining.
Experience with Renishaw probing.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
Ability to make basic CNC programme and tool table edits.

Responsibilities

Setting and operating high-speed CNC machinery.
Working across milling, drilling, tapping and other machining processes.
Reading and interpreting engineering and mechanical drawings.
Completing basic edits to CNC programmes and tool tables.
Preparing and loading raw materials and components.
Checking, controlling and replacing tooling and cutters.
Ensuring tooling, fixtures and CNC programmes are available prior to production.
Carrying out quality checks and maintaining accurate production records.
Taking ownership of component quality and minimising scrap.
Supporting the efficient operation of the wider machine shop.

CNC Operator - Permanent Nights
Location: Near Kirkbymoorside
Salary: £17.92ph initially, rising to £18.65ph + £50 per night shift
Earning Potential: Circa £49,000 once established on nights
Hours: Monday to Thursday only
We are recruiting an experienced CNC Operator to join an established manufacturing business, initially working days before moving onto a permanent Monday to Thursday night shift.
This is not a trainee CNC position, so you will need previous hands‑on CNC machining experience. The initial six-month period on days will allow you to become familiar with the company's machines, processes and products while completing your probation, before moving permanently onto nights.

Monday to Thursday, 7:00am - 5:30pm

£17.92 per hour
Approximately £35,974 annual equivalent
Familiarisation with company machinery, products and processes alongside your probationary period
