Job summary

Castle Employment is recruiting for a CNC Operative in the Scarborough area. The role involves setting and operating CNC machinery to produce one-off and small-batch precision components, reading engineering drawings, and maintaining tight tolerances in a collaborative machining team.

The position is permanent, full-time with a rota schedule. £16.00 per hour plus a 30% shift allowance and overtime opportunities. On-site parking is available.

The Role

As a CNC Operative, you'll play a key role in manufacturing precision components to the highest quality standards.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Setting and operating CNC machinery.
• Producing one-off and small batch precision components.
• Working from engineering drawings.
• Manufacturing components to tight tolerances.
• Inspecting your own work using measuring equipment.
• Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and housekeeping.
• Working collaboratively within an experienced machining team.

About You

To be successful, you'll ideally have:

• Previous experience setting and operating CNC machinery.
• Experience within a precision engineering or metal fabrication environment.
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• A keen eye for detail and pride in producing high-quality work.

Experience in any of the following would also be beneficial, but is not essential:

• CNC milling or turning.
• Editing or creating CNC programmes.
• Heidenhain controls.
• CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks or CAMWorks.
