Job summary

Castle Employment Group is seeking an experienced CNC Operator for a permanent nights role near Kirkbymoorside. You will start on days for six months, then move to a permanent night shift Monday to Thursday, 8:30pm–7:00am, 40 hours/week, with a £50 night shift allowance and an expected earnings around £49,000 annually once established on nights.

You will set and operate high-speed CNC machinery, read engineering drawings, and perform basic CNC edits while ensuring quality and production records

Qualifications

• Must have previous CNC machining experience.
• Experience with 3-axis and 4-axis CNC machining.
• Experience with Renishaw probing.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Ability to make basic CNC programme and tool table edits.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating high-speed CNC machinery.
• Working across milling, drilling, tapping and other machining processes.
• Reading and interpreting engineering and mechanical drawings.
• Completing basic edits to CNC programmes and tool tables.
• Preparing and loading raw materials and components.
• Checking, controlling and replacing tooling and cutters.
• Ensuring tooling, fixtures and CNC programmes are available prior to production.
• Carrying out quality checks and maintaining accurate production records.
• Taking ownership of component quality and minimising scrap.
• Supporting the efficient operation of the wider machine shop.
