Trainee CNC Setter/Operator
£24,784 - £26,500, Haywards Heath, Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm, Permanent, 24 days holiday + bank holidays + Christmas shutdown, 8% pension, bonus, private health insurance, parking
The Role
- Learning to set and operate CNC machines to produce precision parts
- Supporting machining work in line with production specifications
- Learning to read and interpret engineering drawings accurately
- Developing an understanding of tooling, fixtures and machining processes
- Carrying out in-progress checks to ensure accuracy and quality
- Inspecting completed components to ensure they meet specification
- Supporting routine machine checks and basic maintenance
- Assisting with troubleshooting machining issues
- Working closely with experienced CNC machinists to develop technical skills
- Supporting good housekeeping, quality standards and continuous improvement across the workshop
Requirements
- The successful Trainee CNC Setter/Operator will have a genuine interest in CNC machining, engineering or precision manufacturing.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, engineering, machine operating, mechanical assembly or production environment would be desirable, although full training will be provided.
- Experience reading engineering drawings, using measuring equipment or working with machinery would be highly desirable.
- You will be practical, accurate, reliable and keen to develop into a skilled CNC role within a supportive engineering environment.
- This role could suit someone who has worked as a Machine Operator, Production Operative or Engineering Operative.
