Job summary

Actio Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering company in Ferndown for an experienced CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator to join their growing manufacturing team.

You will program offline using PowerMill, set and operate CNC milling machines with Heidenhain controls, read drawings and develop cutting strategies to produce precision components. This permanent day-shift role includes a Friday early finish and a salary of £42,000 per annum.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Miller Programmer / Setter / Operator.
• Strong offline programming experience using PowerMill or similar software.
• Experience operating and setting machines with Heidenhain controls.
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
• Confident working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
• Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail.
• Experience within precision engineering, aerospace, defence, medical or similar sectors would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Programming CNC milling machines using PowerMill
• Setting and operating CNC milling machinery with Heidenhain controls
• Producing precision-engineered components to tight tolerances
• Editing and optimising machining programs where required
• Selecting tools, fixtures and machining strategies
• Conducting in-process inspections using a range of measuring equipment
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Maintaining high standards of quality, accuracy and housekeeping
• Working closely with the production and engineering teams to meet delivery schedules
