Job summary

Impact Recruitment Services in Northamptonshire is seeking an experienced CNC Miller setter/operator to join an established precision engineering company. You will work on high-value components across aerospace, automotive, oil & gas and general engineering, using Fanuc controls and 3-5 axis milling. This permanent, on-site role pays £16.00–£20.00 per hour.

Hours: Mon–Thu 8:30–17:30, Fri 8:30–13:30. You will read drawings, set and run programs, perform quality checks and troubleshoot machining

Qualifications

• Must be an experienced CNC Miller with time-served background.
• Experience with Fanuc controls and 5-axis milling is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Program, set and operate CNC milling machines.

Impact Recruitment are recruiting for an Experienced CNC Miller setter / operator to join our client, a well-established precision engineering company based in Northamptonshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC Miller looking for a new challenge within a growing business that specialises in high-value and technically demanding CNC milling and turning applications.

The company supplies components to a wide range of industries including Aerospace, Automotive, Oil & Gas and General Engineering, offering the successful candidate the opportunity to work on varied and technically interesting projects.

Salary: £16.00phr - £20.00phr (depending on work experience)

Hours: Mon - Thurs 8:30am - 17:30pm Fri 8:30am-13:30pm

Employment: Permanent

What you'll be doing:

• Programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines.
• Working with Fanuc controls
• Carrying out online and offline programming and making programme adjustments where required.
• Working with 3 - 5 axis milling machines
• Reading and working from engineering drawings.
• Ensuring components are manufactured accurately and to specification.
• Carrying out quality checks throughout the machining process.
• Troubleshooting machining issues and making adjustments where necessary.
• Working independently and using your own initiative to complete jobs efficiently.

What we're looking for:

• Previous experience as a CNC Miller / CNC Milling Machinist.
• A Time Served Machinist with experience in CNC milling.
• Strong CNC machine tool background.
• Experience with Fanuc controls.
• Previous experience with 5-axis milling.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.
• Organised with the ability to work efficiently and independently.
• Good communication skills.
