Job summary

Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking an experienced CNC Miller for a full-time, day-shift role in the UK. You will set up, operate, and offline program multi-axis CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components from drawings to finished parts.

The ideal candidate has strong CNC milling experience, understands GD&T, and can interpret drawings accurately. A day shift with a competitive hourly rate and a discretionary bonus is on offer.

Qualifications

• Offline Programming: Proven experience with offline programming software (any major CAM package will be considered).
• CNC Milling Expertise: Strong background in CNC milling operations, setup, and control systems.
• Machining Knowledge: Excellent understanding of cutting speeds, feeds, tooling selections, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

Responsibilities

• Set, operate, and offline program multi-axis CNC milling machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and tolerances.

We are looking for an experienced CNC Miller to join our growing manufacturing team on a full-time, day-shift basis.

Role Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for setting, operating, and offline programming CNC milling machines to produce high-precision components. We are seeking a skilled machinist who can take parts from drawing to final component, ensuring high quality and adherence to strict engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Set, operate, and offline program multi-axis CNC milling machines.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and tolerances.
• Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, and cutting conditions.
• Inspect finished parts using precision measuring equipment to ensure specifications are met.
• Assist in continuous improvement activities to optimize machining processes and reduce cycle times.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Offline Programming: Proven experience with offline programming software (any major CAM package will be considered, e.g., Mastercam, Edgecam, HyperMill, SolidCAM, etc.).
• CNC Milling Expertise: Strong background in CNC milling operations, setup, and control systems.
• Machining Knowledge: Excellent understanding of cutting speeds, feeds, tooling selections, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
• CNC Turning (Desirable): Prior experience with CNC turning is an advantage, though not essential.

Working Hours & Pay

• Shift Pattern: Day shift (Monday to Friday, standard daytime hours).
• Pay Rate: Up to £23.00 per hour (depending on experience and skill level).
• 15% of salary decresionary bonus
