Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd is seeking an experienced CNC Miller to join a leading precision engineering manufacturer supplying high-spec aerospace components. You will operate 4- and 5-axis milling machines in a modern shop, reading detailed drawings and maintaining tight tolerances with high-quality workmanship.

The role is full-time and permanent, 40 hours per week with weekly rotating shifts; commutable from Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Alfreton and Nottingham.

Qualifications

• Experience setting and operating 4 or 5 axis CNC milling machines.
• Experience in precision engineering environments such as Aerospace, Automotive, Motorsport, Oil & Gas or subcontract machining.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience machining high-value or exotic materials is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate 4 and 5 axis CNC milling machines to produce aerospace components.
• Machine materials including Titanium, Inconel and Hardened Steel.
• Read and work from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Produce components to tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Carry out in-process inspections using measuring equipment.
• Meet production targets while maintaining right-first-time quality.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and 5S standards.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a clean working environment.

Location: North Nottinghamshire (commutable from Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Alfreton and Nottingham)

Salary: £19.77 - £24.08 per hour

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, weekly rotating

Week 1

Monday - Thursday: 07:00am - 17:00pm

Week 2

Monday - Thursday: 17:00pm - 05:00am

The Candidate

To be considered for this role you should have:

• Previous experience setting and operating 4 or 5 Axis CNC milling machines.
• Experience within a precision engineering environment such as Aerospace, Automotive, Motorsport, Oil & Gas or subcontract machining.
• Apprentice trained or qualified through relevant industry experience.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience machining high-value or exotic materials is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• A positive attitude with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
