Job summary

HR GO Recruitment is seeking a CNC Miller - Setter/Operator for a permanent, full-time role in Hertford, UK. The successful candidate will operate CNC milling machinery to produce tooling and precision components, read technical drawings and set tools, fixtures and offsets, and conduct first-off and in-process inspections.

Desirable experience includes Haas or Fanuc controls and basic program editing. The salary is dependant on experience and this is a permanent position with opportunities to

CNC Miller - Setter/Operator (Permanent, Full Time)

This opportunity is with an established precision engineering and mould-making manufacturer supplying the UK and overseas markets. The business operates a modern toolroom and invests in up-to-date CNC machinery to deliver high-quality work and fast turnaround.

Key Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC milling machines to produce tooling and precision components.


• Working from engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications; setting tools, fixtures, work offsets and proving out jobs.


• Carrying out first-off and in-process inspection using measurement equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).


• Maintaining high standards of quality, safety, housekeeping and documentation.


• Supporting continuous improvement to reduce scrap/rework and improve output.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential:

• 2 years + proven CNC milling setting/operating experience in a toolroom or precision engineering environment.


• Strong ability to read technical drawings and work to tight tolerances.


• Confident using measuring equipment and checking own work.

Desirable:

• Haas / Fanuc control knowledge (can be trained).


• Basic program editing, offsets and tooling optimisation experience.


• Experience machining metals and engineering plastics.

This is a permanent job with a starting salary dependant on experience. You must have current UK right to work to be considered.
