Job summary

Optima UK INC Ltd is seeking a skilled CNC Miller to join our precision engineering team in North Nottinghamshire. You will operate 4- and 5-axis CNC mills to produce high-spec aerospace components in a modern manufacturing environment.

You'll read detailed drawings, select appropriate materials, and ensure tight tolerances and first-pass quality. The role includes rotating shifts and a strong emphasis on health and safety, 5S and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Previous experience setting and operating 4 or 5 Axis CNC milling machines.
• Experience in precision engineering environments (aerospace, automotive, motorsport, oil & gas, or subcontract machining).
• Apprentice trained or industry-qualified.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience machining high-value or exotic materials is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
• Positive attitude and ability to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Machine materials including Titanium, Inconel and Hardened Steel.
• Read and work from detailed engineering drawings and specifications.
• Produce components to tight tolerances and quality standards.
• Carry out in-process inspections using measuring equipment.
• Meet production targets while maintaining first-pass quality.
• Follow Health & Safety procedures and 5S standards.
• Support continuous improvement and maintain a clean working environment.

Location: North Nottinghamshire (commutable from Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield, Kirkby-in-Ashfield, Alfreton and Nottingham)

Salary:£19.77 - £24.08 per hour

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, weekly rotating

Week 1

Monday - Thursday: 07:00am - 17:00pm

Week 2

Monday - Thursday: 17:00pm - 05:00am
