Job summary

Actio Recruitment is seeking skilled CNC Mill/Turn professionals to join an established aerospace machining team in Poole. Roles include setter/operator and programmer/setter operator with day and night shifts available.

You will work on CNC mill/turn lathes with FANUC controls to produce aerospace components to tight tolerances. Ideal candidates hold an apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering, with proven CNC experience and the ability to read engineering drawings.

Qualifications

• Must have a recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Proven CNC machining experience in a precision engineering environment.
• Strong experience using FANUC controls.
• Experience in aerospace sector is desirable.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Setting and operating CNC mill/turn machines using FANUC controls
• Programming with Fanuc for the programming role
• Producing precision aerospace components to tight tolerances
• Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications
• Carrying out in-process inspection and self-inspection
• Ensuring all work meets SPC and quality standards
• Maintaining a clean and organised working environment in line with 5S/5C
• Working independently with high accuracy and consistency

Shifts: Day & Night Shift Opportunities Available Looking for both a programmer and a setter operator
Location: Poole, Dorset
Rate: £17.00 £21 per hour depending on shift and specific role
Night Shift Premium: 30% Enhancement

An established aerospace engineering manufacturer in Poole is looking for an experienced CNC Mill/Turn Setter Operator and a programmer setter operator to join its skilled machining team. Opportunities are available on both day and night shifts.

This position is ideal for a fully skilled machinist with experience operating CNC mill/turn lathes using FANUC controls within a precision engineering environment.

The Role

As a CNC Mill/Turn Operator, you will be responsible for:

• Setting and operating CNC mill/turn machines using FANUC controls
• Programming wioth Fanuc for the programming role
• Producing precision-engineered aerospace components to tight tolerances
• Working from detailed engineering drawings and specifications
• Carrying out in-process inspection and self-inspection of components
• Ensuring all work meets SPC and quality standards
• Maintaining a clean and organised working environment in line with 5S/5C principles
• Working independently while maintaining high levels of accuracy and consistency

About You

To be considered for this role, you should have:

• A recognised apprenticeship in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• Proven CNC machining experience within a precision engineering environment
• Strong experience using FANUC control systems
• Previous experience within the aerospace sector
• The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• A proactive and reliable approach to work
