Job summary

Guided Talent Ltd. is recruiting an experienced CNC Turner (Nights) for a world-leading aerospace manufacturer in West London. You will program, set and operate Fanuc-controlled lathes to produce high-precision components to tight tolerances.

The role requires reading engineering drawings, selecting tooling and parameters, and maintaining quality and safety standards on a permanent night shift. Training and development opportunities are offered within a high-precision aerospace environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as CNC Turner or CNC Machinist.
• Strong Fanuc programming, setting and operating experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.

Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate CNC lathes, predominantly using Fanuc controls.
• Manufacture complex, high-precision components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Create, edit and optimise CNC programmes at the machine.
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds and machining parameters.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and manufacturing instructions.
• Work to tight tolerances while maintaining high quality standards.
• Carry out dimensional and visual inspections of components.
• Identify and resolve machining or programming issues efficiently.
• Make adjustments and offsets to maintain component accuracy.
• Ensure work conforms to quality, safety and manufacturing procedures.
• Work independently and within a skilled engineering team.
• Support production targets with focus on quality and precision.

Guided Talent is currently recruiting for an experienced CNC Turner (Nights) to join our client, a world-leading aerospace manufacturing organisation based in West London.

This is an excellent permanent opportunity for a skilled CNC Turner with strong Fanuc programming, setting and operating experience to work within a high-precision aerospace manufacturing environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC lathes to manufacture complex, high-precision components to demanding tolerances and quality standards. Working on a permanent night shift, you will play an important role in maintaining production output while ensuring exceptional levels of accuracy and workmanship.

Key Responsibilities

• Programme, set and operate CNC lathes, predominantly using Fanuc controls.
• Manufacture complex, high-precision components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Create, edit and optimise CNC programmes at the machine.
• Select appropriate tooling, speeds, feeds and machining parameters.
• Read and accurately interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and manufacturing instructions.
• Work to tight tolerances while maintaining consistently high standards of quality.
• Carry out dimensional and visual inspections of manufactured components.
• Identify and resolve machining or programming issues efficiently.
• Make adjustments and offsets where required to maintain component accuracy.
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with relevant quality, safety and manufacturing procedures.
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a highly skilled engineering team.
• Support production targets while maintaining a strong focus on quality and precision.

Skills & Experience

The successful CNC Turner will ideally have:

• Proven experience working as a CNC Turner, CNC Lathe Programmer or CNC Machinist.
• Strong working knowledge of Fanuc controls and programming.
• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC lathes.
• Experience manufacturing complex, high-precision components.
• The ability to confidently read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Good understanding of machining processes, tooling and cutting parameters.
• Excellent attention to detail and a quality-focused approach.
• Strong practical problem-solving skills.
• Previous experience within aerospace, precision engineering or another high-tolerance manufacturing environment would be advantageous.
• Flexibility and willingness to work permanent night shifts.

Night Shift Pattern

The position operates on a permanent night shift from Sunday night through to Friday morning:

21:55 (9:55pm) 06:00 (6:00am)

The working week therefore begins on Sunday evening and finishes on Friday morning.
