Job summary

Mansell Recruitment Group has a client in Poole seeking a highly skilled CNC Mill/Turn Programmer/Setter/Operator to manufacture precision components from customer drawings. You will program, set and operate CNC Mill/Turn lathes with FANUC control systems, produce both offline and online programmes, and ensure quality to aerospace standards.

Experience with Edgecam is advantageous, as is familiarity with Nakamura machines and bar feeders.

Qualifications

• Recognised mechanical engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualification.
• Proven experience as a fully skilled CNC Mill/Turn Programmer/Setter/Operator.
• Strong experience programming and operating FANUC-controlled CNC machinery.
• Experience within the aerospace industry.
• High standard of general engineering ability with excellent attention to detail and quality.
• Experience with Nakamura machines and bar feeders would be advantageous but not essential.
• Experience with Edgecam programming/software would be advantageous.
• Ability to interpret and work accurately from engineering drawings and specifications.
• Strong understanding of quality, inspection and SPC requirements.

Responsibilities

• Programming, setting and operating CNC Mill/Turn lathe machines to manufacture precision components from drawings and specifications.
• Producing offline and online CNC programmes.
• Programming using Edgecam (advantageous).
• Carrying out in-process and final inspection of own work in line with drawings and SPC requirements.
• Maintaining high standard of engineering workmanship and attention to detail.
• Maintaining work area to a clean standard in line with 5C/5S principles.
• Working within a quality-focused aerospace environment.

CNC Mill/Turn Programmer/Setter/Operator

My client is currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced CNC Mill/Turn Programmer/Setter/Operator to join their engineering team in Poole.

This is an excellent opportunity for a fully skilled CNC professional with strong experience in CNC turning, FANUC controls and the aerospace industry.

The Role

As a CNC Mill/Turn Programmer/Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC Mill/Turn lathe machines to manufacture high-quality precision components in accordance with customer drawings and specifications.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Programming, setting and operating CNC Mill/Turn lathe machines using FANUC control systems.
• Producing both offline and online CNC programmes.
• Programming using Edgecam software — experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Manufacturing precision turned components to customer drawings, specifications and quality requirements.
• Carrying out in-process and final inspection of your own work in line with drawing and SPC requirements.
• Maintaining a consistently high standard of engineering workmanship and attention to detail.
• Maintaining your work area to a high standard in accordance with 5C/5S principles.
• Working effectively within a quality-focused engineering environment, particularly within the aerospace sector.
