Job summary

Interaction Engineering is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist Setter/Operator in Milton Keynes to join a precision engineering team. You will programme, set and operate CNC machining centres, while performing manual milling and/or turning when required to meet tight tolerances.

You will work under the Production Supervisor and collaborate with a skilled team dedicated to quality. A modern facility and varied workload support career development.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment.
• Experience programming, setting and operating CNC machinery.
• Manual milling and/or turning experience and ability to read engineering drawings.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.

• Programme CNC machines using G-code or CAM software (Siemens, EdgeCAM or similar).
• Set, prepare and operate CNC machining centres.
• Produce high-quality components to drawings and specifications.
• Carry out manual machining using conventional mills and/or lathes.

• Perform machine set-ups, tool changes and basic maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.

Interaction Engineering CNC Machinist Setter/Operator

Salary: £27,851 - £34,278 per annum (DOE) + 15% Shift Allowance

Our client is looking for an experienced CNC Machinist Setter/Operator with conventional machining experience to join their growing precision engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to work for a well-established manufacturer producing high-quality precision components within a modern and supportive production environment.

The Role

As a CNC Machinist Setter/Operator, you will be responsible for producing precision-engineered metal components to tight tolerances. Working within the production team, you'll programme, set and operate CNC machining centres while also carrying out conventional machining duties where required.

You'll report directly to the PM Production Supervisor and work alongside an experienced team committed to delivering quality products.

Key Responsibilities

• Programme CNC machines using G-code or CAM software (such as Siemens, EdgeCAM or similar).
• Set, prepare and operate CNC machining centres.
• Produce high-quality precision components to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Carry out manual machining operations using conventional mills and/or lathes.
• Inspect finished components to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances.
• Perform machine set-ups, tool changes and basic machine maintenance.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
• Work efficiently to meet production deadlines while maintaining exceptional quality.

Working Hours

PM Shift (37.5 hours per week)

• Monday to Wednesday: 1:30pm - 11:30pm
• Thursday: 1:30pm - 11:00pm
