ROC Engineering in the United Kingdom is seeking a motivated CNC Miller Setter/Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will set up, program, and operate CNC milling machines to produce precision components, ensuring parts meet strict quality standards.

The role involves interpreting drawings, using SolidWorks and CAM, performing inspections, maintaining tooling, and contributing to continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating and setting up CNC milling machines in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC milling machines by installing tooling, fixtures, and workpieces according to specifications.
• Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software, including SolidWorks for design interpretation.
• Operate CNC mills to produce parts with high precision, adhering to detailed engineering drawings and technical requirements.
• Conduct routine inspections of machined parts using hand tools, gauges, and measurement devices to ensure quality standards are met.
• Adjust machine parameters and tooling as needed to optimize performance and maintain tight tolerances.
• Perform basic maintenance on CNC equipment, including cleaning, lubrication, and troubleshooting mechanical issues.
• Support additional manufacturing processes such as grinding, welding, or assembly when required, especially in plastics injection molding applications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.

• Knowledge of tooling selection, setup procedures, and tool wear management.
• Experience working with hand tools, power tools, and various hand-held measuring instruments.
• Ability to perform welding or grinding tasks is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
