Job summary

Contek Recruitment Solutions Ltd. is assisting a High Wycombe-based manufacturer in finding a skilled CNC Setter Operator to produce precision components for the Oil & Gas sector.

You will set up and operate CNC machines, select tooling, follow drawings, and maintain quality while meeting production schedules. The role requires experience with CNC turning/milling, Okuma Millturn machinery, and multi-axis capability, within a small team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating CNC machines in manufacturing, preferably Oil & Gas sector.
• Able to interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Strong understanding of CNC machine operation and tooling setup.
• Experience with multi-axis machining is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines to produce precise components according to drawings.
• Select and install tooling and fixtures for each job.
• Monitor production and quality to meet schedules.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshoot machinery.
• Inspect finished parts for quality against specifications.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve processes.

Position: CNC Setter Operator

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate CNC machines, including Okuma Millturn machinery, to produce precision components according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Select and install appropriate tooling and fixtures for each job.
• Experience with multi-axis machining is highly desirable.
• Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and adherence to production schedules.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of machinery as needed.
• Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Work collaboratively with engineering and production teams to optimize processes and improve efficiency.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a CNC Setter Operator, preferably in a manufacturing environment related to the Oil and Gas sector.
• Understanding of Turning or Milling operations.
• Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Strong understanding of CNC machine operation and tooling setup.
• Experience with Okuma Millturn machinery is highly desirable.
• Ideally, experience with multi-axis machining.
• Ability to perform basic machine maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Excellent attention to detail and quality orientation.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Experience with other systems/machinery will be considered.

Business Hours

They are open 63 hours per week with overtime opportunities available.
