Job summary

E3 Recruitment is working with a globally operating manufacturing business to fill a permanent CNC Setter Operator role in Leeds. The successful candidate will set and operate Fanuc and HAAS controlled centres, machining oil and gas components and contributing to process improvements.

The role requires experience in high precision machining, with formal qualifications desirable and a 37-hour week. Salary starts at £16.45 per hour with 33 days leave and pension options.

Qualifications

• Ideal but not essential: formal qualifications in Mechanical Engineering or Machining (Apprenticeship/NVQ/BTEC/City & Guilds Level 3).
• Experience as Programmer/Setter/Operator or Machinist in high precision machining.

Supplying precision machined components & assemblies to a variety of industries, this company employs over 1000 people across the world, 500 of which are based in the UK. Because of organic growth, they are looking for a CNC Setter Operator to permanently join their business.

Based in LEEDS, just a few miles from the M621, the CNC Setter Operator can easily accessible from Bradford, Wakefield, Dewsbury, Huddersfield, Halifax, Wetherby, York and Harrogate.

The CNC Setter Operator will be responsible for:

• Setting and operating various Fanuc & HAAS controlled machining centres
• Machining complex Oil & Gas components from a variety of materials
• Assist with the development and implementation of new cutting strategies, programme improvement and increasing machining efficiency

The CNC Setter Operator will have:

• IDEAL NOT ESSENTIAL: Formal qualifications within a relevant discipline, Mechanical Engineering/Machining (Apprenticeship, NVQ, BTEC, City & Guilds Level 3 etc.)
• Experience working in a similar role as a Programmer, Setter/Operator or Machinist within a high precision machining environment

Working hours of the CNC Setter Operator:

37 Hours per week, spread across a regular day shift

• Monday to Thursday: 07:30 - 16:00
• Friday: 07:30 to 12:30

In return the CNC Setter Operator will receive:
