Job summary

Dovetail And Slate Limited seeks an experienced CNC/Machinist Lecturer to design, plan, deliver and assess machining and CNC programmes. You will blend practical workshop teaching with theory to help learners succeed.

The role spans multiple levels, bringing industry experience into the classroom and shaping a current, relevant curriculum. A transition from industry to education is supported where needed.

• Substantial practical experience in CNC, machining or precision engineering.
• Ability to teach and demonstrate practical skills clearly to learners.
• Commitment to helping learners achieve and progress.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Designing, planning, delivering and assessing machining and CNC programmes across a range of levels.
• Delivering a mix of practical workshop teaching and underpinning theory.
• Bringing current industry practice and standards into your teaching.
• Assessing learner work fairly and giving clear, constructive feedback.
• Creating a safe, positive and supportive workshop environment.
• Monitoring learner progress and adapting your teaching to meet individual needs.
• Working with colleagues to develop and keep the curriculum relevant.
