Job summary

Dovetail And Slate Limited in Essex is seeking an experienced CNC/Machinist Lecturer to design, plan, deliver and assess machining and CNC programmes, combining practical workshop teaching with the theory learners need to succeed.

You’ll bring current industry practice into your teaching, create a positive learning environment, monitor learner progress and help shape the curriculum to stay relevant to the sector. We welcome candidates from industry and provide support to move into education.

Qualifications

• Substantial practical experience in CNC, machining or precision engineering.
• The ability to teach and demonstrate practical skills clearly to learners.
• A commitment to helping learners achieve and progress.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Relevant Level 3 Qualification.

Responsibilities

• Designing, planning, delivering and assessing machining and CNC programmes across a range of levels.
• Delivering a mix of practical workshop teaching and underpinning theory.
• Bringing current industry practice and standards into your teaching.
• Assessing learner work fairly and giving clear, constructive feedback.
• Creating a safe, positive and supportive workshop environment.
• Monitoring learner progress and adapting your teaching to meet individual needs.
• Working with colleagues to develop and keep the curriculum relevant.
