Job summary

Dovetail And Slate Limited is seeking a CNC/Machinist Lecturer to design, deliver, and assess machining and CNC programmes. The role blends practical workshop teaching with theoretical learning to prepare learners for industry placement and progression.

You’ll bring substantial CNC or precision engineering experience and a passion for teaching, helping students develop essential skills in a supportive college environment. The position is on-site in Essex.

Qualifications

Substantial practical experience in CNC, machining or precision engineering.
Ability to teach and demonstrate practical skills clearly to learners.
Commitment to helping learners achieve and progress.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Relevant Level 3 Qualification.

Responsibilities

Designing, planning, delivering and assessing machining and CNC programmes across a range of levels.
Delivering a mix of practical workshop teaching and underpinning theory.
Bringing current industry practice and standards into your teaching.
Assessing learner work fairly and giving clear, constructive feedback.
Creating a safe, positive and supportive workshop environment.
Monitoring learner progress and adapting your teaching to meet individual needs.
Working with colleagues to develop and keep the curriculum relevant.
