Job Summary

Moog Aircraft Group is seeking an apprentice-trained, experienced Manual / CNC Grinder to join our team at Wolverhampton. We focus on designing complex, often bespoke, high-profile mechanical products for the aerospace industry. Our Machinists work to exceptionally close tolerances, a critical requirement in aerospace manufacturing.

Responsibilities Include

1. Operating and setting Manual Studer machines S20/RM250 and CNC machines (Studer S33/S31)
2. Machining exotic and hardened materials
3. Conducting first-off inspections and completing quality documentation
4. Performing precision manual land grinding to achieve limits of 0.00005
5. Setting and running multiple machines/processes
6. Working rotating shift patterns (Double Dayshift)

Key Skills and Experience

1. Recognised engineering apprenticeship
2. Experience with Mate Grinding
3. Previous experience in aerospace manufacturing
4. Knowledge of machining techniques and tooling
5. Attention to detail, accuracy, and process improvement
6. Proficiency with inspection techniques and equipment to meet drawing tolerances
7. Willingness to work shifts, including nights and overtime
8. Self-certified and quality stamp holder after qualifying period
9. Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance, maintained throughout employment
