Job summary

Optical Precision, near High Wycombe, seeks an experienced CNC Grinder to join its busy grinding team on a permanent basis. You will set and operate Cylindrical and Surface grinders, read engineering drawings, and grind to tight tolerances in a subcontract environment.

Working hours are Mon-Thu 7:30am–4:00pm and Fri 7:30am–1:00pm, with overtime at 1.5x. Salary up to £40k depending on experience; private medical care is available.

Qualifications

• CNC grinding experience with Studer (Fanuc) or Jones & Shipman is advantageous.
• Manual cylindrical and surface grinding including internal and external grinding.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings.
• Must be a proactive team player.
• Ability to grind complex parts to tight tolerances.
• Able to use various measuring equipment.
• Ability to work with the minimum of supervision.
• Experience of small/medium batch work advantageous.
• Previous experience in a similar sub contract manufacturing environment.
• Good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate cylindrical and surface grinders and other equipment within the Grinding department.
• Maintain parts accuracy and ensure tight tolerances are met.
• Interpret engineering drawings and work to specifications.
• Collaborate with the team to meet production targets.
• Keep the work area clean and record production data.

Due to the expansion of our Grinding Department, we are seeking an experienced Precision CNC Grinder to join our busy and expanding engineering team on a permanent basis.

Duties will include:

• Setting and Operating Cylindrical and Surface Grinders, and other equipment within our busy Grinding department.

Candidate Requirements: CNC Grinder

• CNC Grinding (Studer (Fanuc) / Jones & Shipman) programming & setting experience an advantage.
• Manual Cylindrical and Surface Grinding including internal and external grinding.
• A good understanding of engineering drawings.
• Must be a proactive team player.
• Ability and knowledge of grinding complex parts to tight tolerances.
• Able to use various types of measuring equipment.
• Ability to work with the minimum of supervision.

CNC Grinder - Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:00pm - Friday 7:30am to 1:00pm. Overtime paid at 1.5x

CNC Grinder - Salary: Up to £40k (negotiable & depending on experience) Overtime paid at time and a half.
