Job summary

Optical Precision, based near High Wycombe, is seeking an experienced CNC Grinder to join our busy grinding department on a permanent basis. You will set and operate Studer/Fanuc and Jones & Shipman grinders, ensuring tight tolerances on precision parts for aerospace and other sectors.

We value proactive team players with strong drawing interpretation and excellent measuring skills. Overtime available, private medical care offered, and a collaborative engineering environment.

Qualifications

• CNC grinding programming and setting experience is advantageous.
• Manual cylindrical and surface grinding including internal and external grinding.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings.
• Must be a proactive team player.
• Ability to grind complex parts to tight tolerances.
• Experience using measuring equipment.
• Experience in a subcontract manufacturing environment is a plus.

An excellent opportunity for an Experienced CNC Grinder to join a well-established company based near High Wycombe.

We offer 'A great service' by manufacture of parts and sub-assemblies complete to a wide range of customers in sectors including Aerospace, Defence, Oil & Gas, Motorsport (including Formula 1), Food/Scientific and Medical to name a few.

Due to the expansion of our Grinding Department, we are seeking an experienced Precision CNC Grinder to join our busy and expanding engineering team on a permanent basis.

Duties will include: Setting and Operating Cylindrical and Surface Grinders, and other equipment within our busy Grinding department.

Candidate Requirements: CNC Grinder

• CNC Grinding (Studer (Fanuc) / Jones & Shipman) programming & setting experience an advantage.
• Manual Cylindrical and Surface Grinding including internal and external grinding.
• A good understanding of engineering drawings.
• Must be a proactive team player.
• Ability and knowledge of grinding complex parts to tight tolerances.
• Able to use various types of measuring equipment.
• Ability to work with the minimum of supervision.
• Experience of small / medium size batch work an advantage.
• Previous experience of working in a similar sub contract manufacturing environment.
• Good communication skills.

CNC Grinder - Working Hours: Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4:00pm - Friday 7:30am to 1:00pm. Overtime paid at 1.5x

CNC Grinder - Salary: Up to £40k (negotiable & depending on experience) Overtime paid at time and a half.
