Engineering Company is recruiting a skilled CNC Grinder to join its on-site team in an advanced manufacturing environment. The role focuses on setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC grinding machines to produce precision metal parts.

The candidate should have experience in grinding operations, blueprint reading, and quality control to ensure parts meet exact specifications. The position offers day shifts and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Grinder or similar machining role.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and GD&T symbols.
• Good knowledge of grinding techniques, tools, and machine setup.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC grinding machines (cylindrical, surface, tool & cutter) and operate to spec.
• Load/unload parts, ensure correct alignment and secure clamping.
• Adjust speeds/feeds per spec and verify with gauges.
• Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and CMM where available.
• Maintain parts within tight tolerances and surface finish requirements.
• Carry out routine maintenance including cleaning and lubrication.
• Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions to minimise downtime.
• Follow safety procedures and ISO requirements.

What the role involves:

This is a full-time on-site Role

My Client is seeking a skilled CNC Grinder to set up, operate, and maintain CNC grinding machines to produce precision metal parts. The ideal candidate should have experience in grinding operations, blueprint reading, and quality control to ensure parts meet exact specifications.

• Set up and operate CNC grinding machines, such as cylindrical, surface, or tool & cutter grinders.
• Load and unload parts, ensuring proper alignment and secure clamping.
• Adjust machine settings, speeds, and feeds based on specifications.
• Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges, CMM, etc.).
• Ensure parts meet tight tolerances and surface finish requirements.
• Make necessary adjustments to maintain quality and minimize scrap.
• Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
• Identify and troubleshoot machine malfunctions to prevent production delays.
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to maintain a safe work environment.
• Comply with company policies, industry standards, and ISO requirements.

Key Skills required

• Proven experience as a CNC Grinder or similar machining role.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and GD&T symbols.
• Strong knowledge of grinding techniques, tool selection, and machine setups.
• Familiarity with CNC programming (G-code) and basic editing is a plus.
• Experience using precision measuring instruments.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
