Job summary

JD Gyms Newcastle is seeking a Duty Manager to oversee day-to-day operations, deliver excellent member service and support a aligned team. You will help ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment while contributing to membership growth and commercial performance.

The role requires flexibility to cover early mornings, evenings and weekends in line with business needs and JD Gyms standards. Working closely with the management team, you will conduct safety checks, ensure policies are followed

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supporting colleagues in a leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused environment.
• Strong commitment to delivering excellent member service and coaching colleagues.
• Qualified to Level 2 Gym Instructor or higher.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the day-to-day operational running of the club, including opening and closing duties.
• Flexible approach to working hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Ensure adherence to Health and Safety policies and Brand Standards.
• Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks and report defects.
• Support membership growth, revenue and commercial objectives.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards across all areas of the club.
• Deliver outstanding member service through positive and professional interactions.

You will help maintain high operational standards, support colleagues and ensure members receive a safe, welcoming and positive experience during every visit.
