Job summary

JD Gyms York seeks a proactive Duty Manager to oversee daily club operations, support staff and ensure members enjoy a safe, welcoming experience.

You will partner with the management team to hit membership and revenue goals, maintain health and safety standards, and uphold the JD Gyms Brand across all duties. This role requires flexibility, strong guest service, and leadership to motivate the team.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supporting colleagues in leisure, fitness, hospitality or customer-focused settings.
• Strong commitment to member service and coaching skills.
• Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
• Experience driving membership growth and local marketing initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operational running of the club, including opening/closing duties.
• Work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies and company procedures.
• Maintain JD Gyms Brand Standard across the club.
• Conduct safety checks and report defects to keep equipment safe.
• Support membership, revenue and commercial objectives.
• Identify opportunities to grow secondary revenue streams.
• Maintain high cleanliness standards across all areas of the club.
• Support colleagues in maintaining professional appearance and uniform standards.
• Deliver outstanding member service through positive interactions.
• Represent JD Gyms values in all interactions.
