Job summary

develop is seeking a hands-on Head of Cloud Platform Engineering to own and evolve the AWS cloud estate at national scale. You will balance technical leadership with active engineering work, shaping cloud architecture and governance across a small, high-caliber platform team.

You’ll drive Terraform/IaC, cloud security and IAM, incident management, and SRE practices while aligning with energy/critical-infrastructure contexts to ensure reliability and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Strong cloud/platform engineering experience in the AWS ecosystem.
• IaC tooling expertise with Terraform and related pipelines.
• Hands-on cloud security and IAM capabilities with governance.
• Experience in incident management and SRE practices.
• Previous technical leadership or team-management background.

Responsibilities

• Own AWS cloud architecture and platform engineering strategy.
• Lead a small platform engineering team and shape engineering guardrails.
• Drive cloud-native infrastructure and open-source technology adoption.
• Ensure reliability, security, and cost-awareness across the estate.
