Job summary

SMG is seeking a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to design, build and operate the cloud platform that our products run on. You’ll embed with product squads, migrate AWS workloads to an Azure landing zone, and shape long-term platform direction with reusable Terraform modules, observability and reliability practices.

You’ll join a small platform team with growth plans, collaborating to deliver secure, scalable cloud foundations and self-service tooling for engineers across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Designed, built and run production cloud infrastructure for a SaaS product.
• Hands-on Azure landing zone experience: hub-spoke networking, private endpoints, Entra ID/RBAC.
• Hands-on AWS experience sufficient to operate and migrate workloads.
• IaC expertise; Terraform preferred, Bicep/ARM a plus.
• Pipeline authoring in CI tools; we use Azure DevOps and Bitbucket.
• Observability tooling and SLIs/SLOs with Datadog.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve Azure landing zone and cloud foundations; migrate remaining AWS workloads.
• Operate observability and SRE tooling; implement SLO dashboards across products.
• Contribute to platform roadmap; turn needs into shared platform capabilities.
• Build Terraform modules and pipelines for safe provisioning.
• Embed security, compliance and cost governance; tag governance and audit remediations.
• Design and operate private networking and workload identity across the landing zone.
• Embed with product squads from discovery to go-live for infrastructure decisions.
• Enable developer self-service; mentor teams on SRE practices and on-call readiness.
• Create runbooks, incident playbooks and onboarding guides for teams.
