Job summary

Flui Technologies seeks a hands‑on Head of Cloud Platform Engineering to own the architecture and operations of its AWS cloud estate, ensuring resilience, performance and cost control for national‑scale data processing.

You will lead design, build and run of cloud platforms, partner with engineering leadership, and drive FinOps, security and platform standards while mentoring a small team.

Qualifications

• Experience owning cloud platforms for regulated, high‑availability or critical infrastructure.
• Strong AWS compute, storage, networking, data and security knowledge.
• Proven ability to design and operate cloud‑native platforms combining AWS services with open‑source components.
• Track record delivering FinOps cost savings and strong security posture.

Responsibilities

• Own the component‑level architecture of Flui's AWS cloud estate, spanning AWS‑native services and open‑source components.
• Operate and improve platforms underpinning MarketFlow, MeterFlow and DCC adapter at national scale.
• Design and maintain disaster recovery, high‑availability and capacity plans for critical infrastructure.
• Own FinOps for the cloud estate: cost visibility, forecasting, tagging and allocation, and drive cost optimisation.
• Own cloud security posture: IAM, encryption, vulnerability management, ISO/IEC 27001 alignment.
• Define and maintain non‑functional standards for resilience, performance and observability, and enforce them across teams.
• Maintain hands‑on infrastructure‑as‑code, CI/CD pipelines and platform tooling with the wider team.
• Lead on‑call, incident response and root‑cause analysis to improve reliability.
• Recruit and develop a small platform engineering team as the estate grows.
• Foster knowledge sharing and mentor engineers to raise capability across the organization.
