Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking a DevOps Platform Engineer to build, automate and support cloud-native and hybrid platforms across AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud and Red Hat technologies. You will design high-performing containerized environments using Kubernetes, Docker/CRI-O, and IaC.

This role spans mid-level to senior levels with responsibilities scaling accordingly. You will collaborate with development, architecture, security, and SRE teams to deliver scalable, secure platforms and

Qualifications

• Broad foundation across systems administration, networking, security, or databases.
• Experience supporting production platforms (on-call, incident response).
• Hands-on automation of security or compliance workflows (vulnerability remediation, policy-as-code).
• Experience bridging traditional infrastructure with cloud-native and container platforms.

Responsibilities

• Build, automate, and run container platforms using Kubernetes, Docker, and CRI-O.
• Deploy and maintain infrastructure in multi-cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, Red Hat).
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Ansible, and cloud-native IaC tools.
• Implement HA/DR strategies, load balancing, and hybrid networking solutions.
• Integrate monitoring, SLOs, and quality gates into CI/CD pipelines for resilient delivery.
• Administer Red Hat OpenShift clusters and support migrations onto container platforms.
• Work with architects and developers to improve platform automation, performance, and security.
• Depending on seniority, lead technical decisions, guide DevOps practices, and mentor engineers.
