Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking a DevOps Engineer to design and support modern cloud platforms, build infrastructure as code, and enhance CI/CD pipelines across complex, security-conscious environments.

You will work with Docker, Kubernetes and various cloud services, embedding security and observability into every delivery. The role emphasizes automation, collaboration, and continuous learning within a flexible engineering culture.

Qualifications

• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using modern tools.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code approaches (Terraform and/or CloudFormation).
• Experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Scripting/automation experience (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Datadog).
• Understanding of security principles across the software delivery lifecycle.
• Experience with Git-based source control and collaborative development.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and support modern cloud and platform solutions.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code.
• Build, improve and support CI/CD pipelines for secure software delivery.
• Implement and maintain containerised solutions with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Embed DevSecOps principles across infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Implement monitoring, logging and observability for reliability and performance.
• Automate operational tasks and reduce manual effort with scripting.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary delivery teams and client stakeholders.
• Share best practices and drive continuous improvement across engineering teams.
• Support delivery in regulated security-conscious environments.
