Job summary

IBM Consulting UK FutureNow is seeking DevOps Engineers to design, build and support modern cloud platforms and delivery pipelines across regulated environments. You’ll automate infrastructure with Terraform and CloudFormation, containerise with Docker/Kubernetes, and embed security throughout the SDLC while collaborating with client teams to drive reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in DevOps/Platform/Cloud engineering or similar role.
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps or similar.
• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of cloud platforms AWS/Azure/GCP.
• Scripting in Python, Bash, PowerShell or similar.
• Knowledge of monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Splunk, Datadog).
• Understanding of security principles across the software delivery lifecycle.
• Experience with Git-based source control and collaborative development.
• Strong problem-solving, communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Experience in consulting, public sector or regulated environments is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and support modern cloud and platform solutions.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and CloudFormation.
• Build, improve and support CI/CD pipelines for secure software delivery.
• Implement and maintain containerised solutions with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Embed DevSecOps principles across cloud infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
• Implement monitoring, logging and observability to improve reliability and performance.
• Automate operational processes and reduce manual effort through scripting.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary delivery teams and client stakeholders.
• Contribute to technical best practices and knowledge sharing across teams.
• Support delivery in highly regulated environments.
