Job summary

Hypercube Consulting is seeking an early-career Cloud Platform Service Engineer to join a major cloud and platform managed service for an oil and gas customer. Aberdeen is preferred, with options for remote Scotland-wide roles and regular travel to Aberdeen as needed.

You'll work with Azure, Windows Server, AD, 365, VMware, and more, handling incidents, requests, monitoring, backups, and standard changes while learning from experienced engineers.

Qualifications

• Eligible to work in the UK.
• Willing to undergo Baseline Disclosure Scotland check.
• Able to attend customer site in Aberdeen when required.
• Some hands-on experience in IT infrastructure, cloud or technical support.
• Willing to learn and develop technical skills.
• Willing to support occasional planned out-of-hours maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve cloud and infrastructure incidents.
• Respond to monitoring alerts and perform initial troubleshooting.
• Handle technical service requests and routine operational tasks.
• Keep tickets updated for customers and engineers.
• Follow issues through and avoid unnecessary escalation.
• Contribute to platform health checks and routine maintenance.
• Document findings and resolutions to improve knowledge base.
