Job description

Job Description:

The position involves delivering an efficient Diagnostic Imaging service in the Small Animal Hospital, contributing to clinical teaching, and engaging in clinical research within the neurology service to support the school's objectives in clinical excellence, teaching, and research.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide high-quality Diagnostic Imaging services and advice to external practices and owners to support clinical, teaching, and research activities.
  2. Develop innovative diagnostic and treatment approaches and enhance income generation opportunities.
  3. Implement and validate clinical quality assurance measures.
  4. Support training and supervision of clinical scholars, aiding their examination success.
  5. Participate in professional bodies related to the service at national and international levels.
  6. Maintain compliance with professional development requirements.
  7. Engage in promotional activities for the Small Animal Hospital.
  8. Deliver undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, supporting curriculum development and assessment.
  9. Contribute to clinical investigations, research publications, and attend relevant seminars and conferences.
  10. Develop promotional materials for the Diagnostic Imaging clinic.
  11. Participate in administrative tasks and performance reviews as directed.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Veterinary degree registered with RCVS; for Grade 8, a Diploma in Diagnostic Imaging; candidates with residency training and Board eligibility may be appointed at Grade 7.
  • Desirable: PhD or research training, Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
  • Skills include excellent communication, teamwork, advice provision, strategic planning, presentation skills, independence, and IT proficiency.
  • Experience includes postgraduate clinical work in Diagnostic Imaging; teaching and publication records are desirable.

Terms and Conditions: Salary ranges from £39,347 to £56,021 per annum, full-time, open-ended. UK work eligibility and visa requirements apply.
