The Team Administrator plays a vital role in supporting the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Crisis Team by providing comprehensive administrative and clerical support to ensure the efficient delivery of high-quality patient care. Working within a fast-paced and sensitive healthcare environment, the post holder is responsible for coordinating administrative processes, helping to manage referrals and supporting clinical staff in the day-to-day operation of the service.
The Team Administrator acts as a key point of contact for service users, families, carers, internal departments, and external agencies, ensuring effective communication and the timely exchange of information. The role requires a high level of organisation, attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work under pressure while maintaining professionalism and compassion when dealing with vulnerable young people and their families.
Whilst having previous experience in an administrative role is essential, NHS or other health care experience is not. We are first and foremost looking for individuals with a passion for people, customer service experience, extensive organisational skills, an interest in working in a health care setting and a 'can do' attitude.
This role is at the heart of a dedicated and caring team and is a pivotal role in the day-to-day operations.
We are looking for someone who feels comfortable multi-tasking in a busy environment, can communicate confidently, is thorough and takes pride in their work, can build strong working relationships with a variety of people, can prioritise their workload and work to deadlines.
We are the Mental Health & Learning Disability NHS Trust for County Durham and Darlington, Teesside, North Yorkshire, York and Selby.
From education and prevention, to crisis and specialist care --our talented and compassionate teams work in partnership with our patients, communities and partners to help the people of our region feel safe, understood, believed in and cared for.
We nurture the recovery journey of anyone in need of our help. In Our Trust, everyone has a say in how they are supported and treated because we listen to every person in our care until they feel understood. Our patients, their families and carers work together with us towards better mental health.
We're committed to new thinking that improves the wellbeing of our region. We connect with our communities and partners to get mental health care right, in areas that really need it.
We won't rest until everyone in our region has the mental health care they need, to lead their best possible life.
The post holder will contribute to the smooth running of the CAMHS Crisis Team by managing diaries, arranging meetings, preparing documentation, updating electronic patient records, monitoring team inboxes, processing referrals, and supporting compliance with NHS policies, procedures, and information governance requirements. The role is essential in enabling clinical staff to focus on delivering urgent mental health assessments and interventions for children and young people experiencing mental health crises.
