Job description

Job Title: Clinical Nurse Specialist (Team Leader) - Substance Misuse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and driven registered nurse to join our Substance Misuse Team as a Clinical Nurse Specialist (Team Leader). The successful candidate will have significant experience in this field and be passionate about providing the highest standard of care to patients living with substance misuse.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Act as a clinical expert within the specialised field, demonstrating high standards of quality care and providing clinical leadership to others.
  2. Lead the development of clinical nursing services by implementing national substance misuse management and prevention initiatives at a local level, contributing to strategic decision-making, and developing policies relevant to the speciality.
  3. Provide expert clinical advice and education to patients, promoting a culture that supports self-management, health, and wellbeing.
  4. As key worker, use advanced technical knowledge of substance misuse and treatment to oversee and coordinate services, personalise care pathways, and address complex information and support needs of patients and families.
  5. Deliver specialist education and training to other professionals involved in patient care.
  6. Manage, supervise, and develop the Substance Misuse Team, acting as a professional role model and advancing evidence-based clinical practice.
  7. Work closely with the wider multidisciplinary team (MDT) to promote and implement evidence-based policies and guidelines related to substance misuse, serving as a resource for colleagues.
