Job Opportunity: Band 7 Diabetes Specialist Nurse

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time, permanent Band 7 Diabetes Specialist Nurse at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work within a nationally and internationally recognized diabetes team, known for its dynamic and innovative delivery of diabetes services.

Role Overview:

  • Lead on specific areas of the diabetes service and support less experienced colleagues.
  • Undertake specialist assessments and document management plans for multidisciplinary colleagues and healthcare practitioners.
  • Lead service audits and developments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform specialist assessments of patients with diabetes in inpatient and outpatient settings.
  • Manage a patient caseload, providing expert assessment, planning, and evaluation, including medication management and insulin therapy. Non-Medical Prescribing qualification is essential.
  • Coordinate and manage patient reviews and discharge processes.
  • Contribute to multidisciplinary management and support patient education and self-management.
  • Participate in diabetes awareness programs and activities.

Additional Information:

Work within a large, well-known team comprising diabetologists/endocrinologists, dietitians, podiatrists, pharmacists, and nurses. The role supports professional development and service improvement initiatives.
