Job summary

A leading healthcare provider in London is seeking a clinical link for Parkinson's care. Candidates will provide support from diagnosis through ongoing treatment and can expect thorough training and support. Strong communication skills and a Master's degree are essential, along with a Registered Nurse-Adult qualification. Salary ranges from £53,751 to £60,651 pro rata per annum, inclusive of HCAS.

Overview

Main duties of the job

You will be the professional clinical link between all areas of care for individuals with Parkinson's and provide care and support for patients from diagnosis through to ongoing treatment and care. You will provide excellent teaching experience and the chance to contribute to local clinical networks. As a Trust we are committed to the development of our staff and will offer you thorough training and support.

Dedicated Parkinson's experience is preferred but candidates willing to evolve their skills will be considered.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • Registered Nurse-Adult with Current NMC registration
  • Advanced communication skills/counselling qualification or willingness to undertake
  • Evidence of continuous professional development preferably in Parkinson's or Neurology.
  • Masters Degree
Experience
  • Significant relevant experience in the specialty or in the acute hospital setting with some of which will be at a Band 6 level or above
  • Experience of formal/informal teaching.
  • Experience where a degree of autonomous working has been required.
  • Experience of complex decision making.
  • Demonstrate analytical skills and critical thinking
  • Experience in looking after neurological and/or other long-term conditions
Other Skills
  • Demonstrates sound knowledge of current developments in the NHS
  • Ability to undertake teaching of staff and patients.
  • Computer Skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing situations due workload and colleagues\' needs.
