Job summary

Douglas Scott Ltd is seeking a Solicitor (Grade C) in Birmingham to handle a high-value clinical negligence caseload. The role blends office attendance with a hybrid pattern, including a 1-day-per-week in the office.

The appointee will review complex claims, provide robust strategy, and support business development. The ideal candidate will have NQ–3 years PQE in clinical negligence, strong drafting and advocacy, and excellent client communication.

Responsibilities

• Manage a high-value, complex caseload of clinical negligence claims from inception to conclusion.
• Proactive case strategy, drafting, negotiation, and, where necessary, litigation.
• Collaborating with clients, experts, and counsel, ensuring excellent client care at all times.
• Supporting team performance and development, including coaching junior solicitors.
• Driving financial and service delivery targets with a commercial mindset.

Solicitor (Grade C) - Clinical Negligence

Location: Birmingham - Hybrid 1 day in the office a week

Salary: £55,000 DOE + Bonus

About the Role

My client is a specialist firm in clinical negligence and personal injury, and they are looking to bring in a Clinical Negligence Solicitor to join their growing team.My client has real ambitions to grow so if career development is what you are after then now is the perfect time to join.

In the role you will be managing a mixed caseload that will include high value, complex matters such as birth,brainand spinal injuries. You will also get involved within business development activities as well as mentoring junior members of the team.

Salary for the role will be £55,000 DOE plus a 14% annual bonus. Other benefits include27 dayAL plus bank holidays and Christmas closure, enhanced maternity/paternity, 8 % pension to name a few. The offices you will attend oncea week, although you can go in more often if you wish.

Skills & Experience Required

• NQ - 3 years PQE (or equivalent experience) in clinical negligence
• Strong technicalexpertisewith a proventrack recordin high-value claims
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
• Commercially aware with strong organisational and case management ability
• Experience mentoring or supporting junior colleagues
• Client-focused, with exceptional communication skills
